Here are some tips for a successful load and a day of Air delivered mayhem.
1. Before doing a video driver update..remove your old drivers in the control panel add/remove programs. Then run Driver Sweeper available for download at Guru 3d.
2. Run Registry Fixer. This will clean traces of programs, drivers and all kinds of junk from your registry (which frees up memory). This will make your rig run better.
3. Install your new Video driver. If using Catalyst control center...down load the driver separately and not as a package. Install the driver first and then CCC..that makes the installation a lot cleaner.
4. If you have any issues or problems such as The Blue Screem(n) of Death then a Bios upgrade may be in order...as a matter of fact, if your Bios is more than two versions older than the latest available one upgrade first before anything else followed by a chipset upgrade.
When I followed my own advice I eleminated all my BSODS caused by bugcheck dumps, runtime errors and aggravating stuff like that. I also increased my Demo framerate (with vertical sync off) from a max of 45 to 75 fps. Not too bad.
5 Before installing the full version unistall the demo and the Ageia drivers, run Registry Fixer again, reboot then install the game.
