A little history :
Windows XP Home is very different from the Professional one.
But, Micro$oft didn't want to write two Operating Systems, so
they made a "Lite" and a "Pro" edition of their baby, WinNT 5.1.
In fact, you can turn your Home to Pro and vice versa, with a little
registry hack that I'm going to show you now.
After that, you will have fully operational WinXP Pro with it's menus,
bootscreens and settings.
Well. Let's start.
Open the Registry Editor.
Start>Run>Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System.
There, you should see ControlSet001 and ControlSet003.
Expand ControlSet003, you'll see Control, Enum, Hardware Profiles and Services.
Open the Control Branch and find "ProductOptions" there.
In the home edition, you have a key called "ProductSuite" with
the value "Personal". you should delete it and create a new
key with the name "Brand" , type DWORD, value 0.
Close the registry editor.
Reboot.
Press F8 during the boot and select "Last known good configuration".
Congratulations, now you have a fully working WinXP Pro System
pLuToNiUm.
