WITHIN TEMPTATION Win World Music Award
According to a posting at their official website, Holland's WITHIN TEMPTATION received a World Music Award as Best Selling Dutch Artist at the World Music Awards in Los Angeles on August 31st. The band received the prestigious award on the basis of their success in Continental Europe. The World Music Award is another milestone in the bands international career. In 2005 Within Temptation already received numerous industry awards at home such the Edison Award (Best National Group), TMF Award (Best National Rock Band) and the Dutch Music Export Award.

VELVET REVOLVER - Enough Material For Five Albums
SLASH's official fan site, www.snakepit.org, has issued the following VELVET REVOLVER update:
Duff (McKagan, bass) says they have tons of new material, and they've been writing since the beginning of the US tour. They have enough for 5 albums! But they have to pare it down to one album. On days off, they come up with riffs and partials and then when they get together, they have to do this to write a song. Nobody's brought in a whole song. But when they all get together the songs come along. They'll probably start working at the end of September, but the album probably won't be out 'til March or April. We record quickly, but it's all the other things like mixing, tracking and packaging that take time. Duff says they don't want to rush it, but they want to keep this momentum that they have right now going.

ENSIFERUM To Record New Album Next Summer, EP In The Works
ENSIFERUM will record their third full length studio album in the summer of 2006, but they will be recording an EP before then at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland. No word yet as to when they plan to release it.

Rammstein Win World Music Award
Rammstein won the award in the category "Best Selling Artist Around The World - Germany" at this year's World Music Awards in Los Angeles. Other winners that received the award were 50 Cent, Gwen Stefani, Eminem and U2.
Rammstein have posted the cover for their first single, "Benzin," from the upcoming album, "Rosenrot," at this location.

Published by RedOctane, Guitar Hero from the makers of Karaoke Revolution uses a plastic guitar peripheral so that gamers can show their skills at crunching power chords and nailing a tough solo. The guitar features five buttons on the fretboard and a plastic button that can be tapped up or down where the strings would be strummed. Playing the songs here is simply a matter of holding down the right fret buttons and tapping the strum button in time with the music. This is all done along with the commands that scroll down the screen in an interface that's very similar to that seen in Frequency or Amplitude. Gameplay is simple: there are five lines on the screen for the five different buttons. Markers scroll down the lines and as they hit the bottom of the screen the corresponding "notes" need to be hit. The game features multiple skill levels and about 30 songs.
