Spitfire Audio All Products Collection

Spitfire was formed in 2008 by film, TV and games composers Paul Thomson & Christian Henson as a private enterprise to create a set of compositional tools that were more satisfactory than the ones that were commercially available at that time.

Paul and Christian questioned why sample recording seemed to differ so much from the recording sessions they were familiar with as composers. So they simply set about making samples the way they made their scores, but just one note at a time. Instead of imitating the venues that the biggest film scores were recorded they simply used the same ones. Alongside the musicians, the instruments, the signal chain and method of recording, here there is no synthesis or imitation, simply a replication of the production of the biggest film scores of the day…. albeit, one note at a time!
