STAR-CD is a multipurpose one "heavy " CFD- development package CD-adapco group ( formerly known as Computational Dynamics Ltd), including procedures for the so-called first " Moving mesh " .


Efficient algorithm parallelization decisions based on the application of the method of finite volumes , combined with unique methods of automated partitioning flow region allow to simulate tasks of any geometric complexity . One of the first areas of the program has been widely used automotive industry, then STAR-CD has spread across industries. The quality assurance program is extensive collaboration with industrial corporations , engineering firms and research centers (Daimler-Chrysler, Imperial College, Aerospatiale-Missiles , etc.).
