Damian is married to Sarah and they have two young children, Claudia and Hugo. They live in Elham in Kent and in London Since 2012 he has served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

He was previously a member of the Select Committee for Culture, Media, Sport and the Olympics, and was as one of the Government's Olympic Ambassadors during London 2012. He is the Conservatives Small Business Ambassador for South East England. Damian is the Chairman of 'Step Short', the Folkestone First World War centenary project, and Chairs the Conservative Arts and Creative Industries Network. Damian was born in Northampton in 1974.

He was educated at St. Mary's High School, and Belmont Abbey School, Herefordshire. He graduated in Modern History from the University of Oxford in 1996. Damian's business career was in advertising and communications where he worked for ten years at M&C Saatchi, London, and then for Lexington Communications.
