Nightwish נפרדים מהסולנית Tarja
לאחר ההופעה האחרונה של Nightwish כחלק מסיבוב ההופעות העולמי של "Once" ב-21 לאוקטובר בהלסינקי, פינלנד, Tuomas Holopainen, קלידן ומקים הלהקה מסר "מכתב פתוח" לסולנית הלהקה Tarja Turunen.
במכתב נאמר, בין השאר, על כך שהגישה של Tarja כלפי הלהקה הייתה כבר מוגזמת, שהיא לא לקחה אותה ברצינות, ביטלה הופעה בשביל ללכת לבלות ולא אחת, איימה על חברי הלהקה שהיא יכולה לעזוב בכל רגע ושהיא לא צריכה יותר את Nightwish, היא הפכה חמדנית וחסרת רגש.
Tuomas אמר שהוא כבר לא יכול לכתוב שירים עבורה, Tarja לא השתתפה בתהליך הכתיבה ואפילו בחזרות במהלך כל 9 השנים שהלהקה קיימת. הוא לא יודע אם זה היה בעלה Marcelo או משהו אחר שגרם לה להשתנות לרעה במהלך הזמן הזה, אבל בצער רב הודיע שהוא ושאר חברי הלהקה נפרדים ממנה ומוציאים אותה מהלהקה. עם זאת, למרות שהוא אמר בראיונות שאם Tarja תעזוב אז הלהקה לא תתקיים עוד, הוא מצהיר ש-Nightwish יכולה להמשיך גם בלעדיה עם סולנית חדשה.
ההופעה האחרונה של Nightwish צולמה ל-DVD שיקרא "End of an Era" והוא מסמל את סיום סיבוב ההופעות העולמי של האלבום "Once" שערך כשנה וחצי. כעת, השם מסמל גם משמעות נוספת עם עזיבתה של הסולנית.

לאחר ציפייה ארוכה וממשוכת, להקת Distorted משחררת שיר ראשון ומלא מתוך האלבום החדש Memorial אותו הקליטה בשוודיה בסטודיו Underground. השיר החדש נקרא "Redemption" והוא מציג צד שונה של הלהקה ממה שמוכר לכולם, אך בהחלט ניתן לשמוע את האופי המיוחד שלה. על הסאוונד באלבום אחראי Pelle Seather שעבד עם להקות כמו Carnal Forge, Draconian ועוד רבים וטובים.
רפי מור, גיטריסט וסולן הלהקה, שיתף את מגזין מטאליסט בקצת מידע על השיר החדש ועל התוכניות לעתיד:
למה לקח לכם הרבה זמן לשחרר לבסוף שיר מהאלבום החדש?
לקח לנו הרבה זמן לשחרר שיר כי השקענו את כל המאמצים שלנו בסגירת כל הפינות הקטנות שעושים לפני שחרור מדיה כלשהיא. יצרנו קשר עם לייבלים ופרומוטרים, סגרנו את כל נושא הארטוורק, חזרנו למצב של כתיבת חומר חדש. כמובן שלאחר הקלטת האלבום וחזרתנו לארץ, נשארו דברים קטנים להקליט פה כמו נגן אורח ומקהלה לאחד מהשירים. לאחר מכן שליחת החומר חזרה לפלה (הסאונד מן) ושליחת כל החומר הממוקסס למאסטרינג.
למה דווקא בחרתם לשחרר את השיר הזה? יש משמעות מאחוריו? (יש קשר נסתר ליום כיפור שנגמר בדיוק?)
אני מניח שהסיבה ששחררנו את השיר הזה ספציפית היא בעיקר כי אנחנו רוצים לתת צד שבדר"כ לא מזוהה עם הלהקה. אנשים ששומעים את השם שלנו נוטים לחשוב שמדובר בלהקה שעושה מוזיקה עדינה יותר, מלודית, גותית. השיר הזה מחזק את הצד השני שלנו, זה שמושפע במקצת מניו-סקול. הקשר ליום כיפור ("גאולה") הוא מקרי. השיר בכללי מדבר על חיים בארץ ישראל ועל העבר של העם היהודי.
מה קורה כרגע עם האלבום, יש עדכונים לגבי היציאה שלו? החתמה?
כרגע האלבום נמצא בשלב שהוא מוכן ומופץ במס' סיבובים ללייבלים ופרומוטרים. אין תאריך משוער ליציאה מכיוון ששום דבר עוד לא סגור. הדבר היחידי שאני כן יכול להגיד זה שאנחנו נמצאים במשא ומתן לגבי הופעות בחו"ל במחצית הראשונה של 2006, כמובן ששום דבר לא הוחלט עדיין.

BLEEDING THROUGH Finalize Track Listing For 'The Truth'
Orange County, CA-based sextet BLEEDING THROUGH have finalized the track listing for their new album, "The Truth", due on January 10, 2006 via Trustkill Records. The follow-up to the group's breakthrough album, "This Is Love…This Is Murderous", was produced by Rob Caggiano, who has previously worked with CRADLE OF FILTH and DRY KILL LOGIC, in addition to playing guitar for ANTHRAX for several years.

LACUNA COIL: New Songtitles Revealed
According to a posting at EmptySpiral.net, LACUNA COIL presented six songs from their forthcoming album, "Karmacode", to members of the world music press on Sunday (Oct. 23) at the Galaxy Studios in Mol, Belgium. The band are currently working in the studio with Grammy award-winning mastering engineer Darcy Proper, whose previous works include PORCUPINE TREE's "Deadwing". The highly anticipated follow-up to 2002's "Comalies", "Karmacode" was co-produced once again by Waldemar Sorychta was mixed by Ronald Prent (RAMMSTEIN, H.I.M., IRON MAIDEN). Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "What I See", "Fragile", "In Visible Light", "Fragments of Faith", "Within Me" and "Our Truth".
With regards to the new album's title, male vocalist Andrea Ferro had previously said, "When it came to coming up with an album title I wanted to combine one 'old' word that is spiritually connected with another that offers a link to our more 'modern' times. If there were an actual translation of 'karmacode,' it would be something like 'spiritual DNA and the message behind it'. The title attempts to balance our modern, overwhelming, self-centered, fast-paced lifestyles and the desire we all have to live a more spiritual, more compassionate and more fulfilling life."
"Karmacode" is tentatively scheduled for release in March 2006 via Century Media Records.

DEICIDE Frontman: New Material Is 'Heaviest Sh*t We've Ever Written'
Following DEICIDE's current European tour, the band are looking forward to putting some newly written material onto record. "The new material is the heaviest shit we've ever written." said bassist/vocalist Glen Benton in a press release. "This is sure to be heaviest record since [1992's] 'Legion'."
Along with an upcoming recording session, the band have tentative plans to tour South America come January and February.
Some new blood has entered DEICIDE in the form of Jack Owen (ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE) and Ralph Santolla (ex-ICED EARTH, DEATH). Glen Benton says that he is looking forward to continuing with the new lineup.
"Everyone is getting along great. I'm excited to get out there and play again without any hassles," stated Benton.
DEICIDE — who last year parted ways with guitarists and founding members, Eric and Brian Hoffman — are touring in support of their latest release, 2004's "Scars of the Crucifix".
