Internet Download Manager היא אפשרות חביבה נוספת לחובבי ההורדות, ואף היא מציעה שלל אפשרויות מתקדמות מלבד הורדה פשוטה של קובץ, כמו חלוקה נוחה של הקבצים לקטגוריות ותיעוד מדוקדק של היסטוריית ההורדות.
התוכנה משתלבת בדפדפן IE, אופרה ומוזילה (ואפילו בנטסקייפ הנשכח) בשתי רמות, על ידי לכידת נסיונות הורדה והעברתם דרך מנגנון ההורדה שלה, או באמצעות ה-Advanced Browser Integration הכולל יכולות מתקדמות, כגון בניית רשימת קישורים להורדה, הורדת כל קובץ שהוא באמצעותה (כולל קבצי HTML) ועוד.
ניתן לבחור, באמצעות קיצורי דרך, לא להוריד קובץ ספציפי באמצעותה, או לקבוע אתרים קבועים שמהם יש לבצע את ההורדה בלי עזרתה, כמו למשל באתר Windows Update, הכולל התקנה משולבת בהורדה.
ניתן להגביל את מספר ההורדות המרבי, שעות ההורדה המורשות ומהירות ההורדה הרצויה, ולבקש ממנה לסרוק קבצים באמצעות אנטי וירוס המותקן על המחשב. IDM מאפשרת קבלת חיוויים קוליים על סיום ההורדה בהצלחה (או כשלון), ותומכת גם בהורדה מאתרים הדורשים שימוש בשם משתמש וסיסמה לכניסה והורדה של קבצים.
בסיום ההורדה תציג IDM מעין חלונית סיום, שמציינת היכן נשמר הקובץ, מה גודלו ושמו ומתעניינת האם תרצו להפעילו. יפה מצידה. גם בתוכנה הזו ניתן לייבא ולייצא רשימות הורדה מאתרים, או לשימוש במחשב אחר עליו היא מותקנת, או בפורמט טקטס, שמתאים לכל מנהל הורדות אחר.
קובץ העזרה שמגיע איתה יעיל למדי, ונתמך גם על ידי מדריך למשתמש והסבר פרטני באתר החברה, אליה ניתן לפנות ישירות בדואר האלקטרוני.
הורדת קובץ בגודל 2 מגהבייט ארך ב-IDM 11 שניות בלבד, ללא ספק אלופת ההורדות מבין התוכנות שבדקנו.
יתרונות: תוכנה מהירה במיוחד, שתומכת גם בדפדפנים שאינם IE.
