It has come to our attention that too many of you are ignoring the rules about duplicate accounts.
We have strict rules about what is accectable on ST. They are very clear and we do enforce them when we see fit to do so.
We also have clear warnings about the consequences of breaking these rules.
We are getting fed up of people posting on the forum/helpdesk/IRC complaining about "Oh I've been warned cos I invited my friend/gf/bf/brother/sister/cousin's pet antelope Joe.
We all know that there are exceptions to these things and if you have to sign in to get an invite from that computer, we will probably allow you to do so.
But this is only contingent on us knowing about it and saying yes to it before your friend signs up!
It is not acceptable to come to us afterwards and expect us to remove a warning/ban because you cannot be bothered to check with the moderator First It normally only takes a few minutes, and if you do not comply with our rules then we won't comply with your requests. It is that simple.
If our rules were not well publicised or if it were easy to miss this on signup, we might be less aggressive about it. However it is written clearly in the rules, in the FAQ. On the Invite page it is in 5 languages (albeit broken but its better than nothing). and in big red letters on the signup page. Finally you have to click a box to say that the computer hasn't been used on ST. The fact that so many of you do so - and hence lie - is reason enough to be pissed off.
Moral of this story: without a damned good excuse as to why you decided to do things in the wrong order, any warnings/bans/disabled accounts you acquire through failure to follow our invite rules are your own fault and non-negotiable.
