PowerDVD היא תוכנת נגן ותיקה ופופולרית, שמציעה איכות תמונה וסרט שקשה למצוא בנגנים המוזלים. בשל העובדה שמדובר בתוכנה ולא במכשיר, ניתן לכלול בה אפשרויות מתקדמות יותר, כמו טכנולוגיות לשיפור התמונה והסאונד, מבלי להשקיע בציוד יקר יותר.התוכנה מסוגלת, למשל, להחיות סרטים על די שימוש בטכנולוגיות כמו 2 CLEV או CLPV שלה, לנתח כל פריים בסרט ולשפר את איכות התמונה שלו בזמן ההקרנה.
