רקע
פורקיופיין טרי (Porcupine Tree, עץ הדרבן) היא להקת פרוגרסיב רוק, רוק פסיכודלי ו-פרוגרסיב מטאל (החל מתחילת שנות ה-2000) מהרטפורדשיר שבאנגליה.
הלהקה נוסדה בשנת 1987 על ידי סטיבן ווילסון.
סגנון:
הרקע המוזיקלי של הלהקה חוזר לילדות של סטיבן ווילסון, כשהוריו חילקו מתנות אחד לשני בחג המולד.
אבא שלו קיבל את האלבום "Dark Side of the Moon" של פינק פלויד
ואמה שלו קיבלה את האלבום "Love to Love You Baby" של הזמרת דונה סאמר.
האלבומים האלה השפיעו על כתיבתו העתידית של שירים.
מאוחר יותר ווילסון התעניין ב-NWOBHM (גל חדש של הבי מטאל בריטי, New Wave of British Heavy Metal).
אבל לאחר שגילה להקות חדשות של שנות השבעים ואת הרוק המתקדם, האהדה שלו למטאל נעלמה.
מאורח יותר, בתחילת שנות ה-2000, ווילסון גילה להקות חדשות בתחום המטאל, כמו:
