בתערוכת E3 זכינו לראות את המשחק בגרסת ה-Pre Alpha שלו, ומחר גרסת האלפא יוצאת לדרך אך למוזמנים בלבד. יש גם דרישות מערכת כלליות.
גרסת ה-Alpha תרוץ למשך שבועיים החל מהיום מהשעה 7 בערב עד 1 בלילה (שעון ישראל) למשך שבועיים. אל תתרגשו יותר מידי, אם הספקתם לבדוק את האיימיל שלכם ולא מופיעה שם ההזמנה, אתם לא תקבלו אותה.המסר מ-Battlelog:

• לא יישלחו הזמנות נוספות.
• אין דרך אחרת להשתתף ב-Alpha.
• גרסת ה-Alpha היחידה, בפעם הבאה זאת תהיה ה-Beta.
• הזמנות נשלחו באופן מקרי (Random).

כך נראית ההזמנה:בנוסף, פורסמו דרישות המערכת לבאטלפילד 4, שלב האלפא, אך אלו צפויות להשתנות:

• Windows 7, אין תמיכה ב-Windows 8.
• מערכת של 64 ביט.
