To my dear friends in Israel
Thank you so much for all the efforts you put for marching against war. I wish we (Iranians) had the ability to do so, to be able to march freely like u guys and chant against hatred and violence, against any shameful threat, speech, or any action that seeds hate in peoples mind, and separate us as one unit. Some day we will also be able to chant as well, till that day, you be the voice of us. Be the voice of peace.
In Iran our situation is different from yours. Despite our day to day struggle with the usual corruption, suppression, restrictions, economic problems, and of course non-sense foreign policy and risky adventurous behaviours of our government, we have to as well face with the numerous international sanctions and foreign threats which is almost paralyzed our day to day life. Meanwhile, we are not even allowed to express our own idea and point of view. Everything is pretty much either controlled or banned, particularly information and communication systems, such as media and internet. We access internet but with tight control and restriction. Not to mention the TV programs which is as junk and propaganda that seldom people may watch it.
Interestingly western media is also not so keen to picture us. All they do is focusing on the government crazy speeches and tailoring their news to just show their surroundings… speeches which even in Iran usually end up as a bitter joke between people. We laugh at them, but of course sadly. Majority of my society is unfortunately has been ignored in between. We did not have the chance to say how tired we are from this crazy game that is going on, and how sick and fed up we are of any sentence and speech which contains the words: nuclear, atom, weapon, sanction, threat, war…
Like any other nation, we don’t want hassle. What we want is freedom and change, and a chance to live in peace and respect with other nations, like Israel. I hope that we together, with the help of each other, stop the aggressive minds from ruining our world and separating our heart.
Some may question our ability, they barely think if these protest or love letters that we send to each other can make any change and affect the decision of decision maker. To me that is a short sight. Our efforts to voice out, to stand and support each other, will help in the long run to fight with all these propaganda, to define the rights and wrongs, to influence the morality of the society, to change the limits, and to define a new world with new rules. If we fail to affect the decision of decision makers today, for sure our persistence and continuous effort can alter the future.
With Love & Respect to all of you
